Growing, Unnoticed is a series that explores our relationship with nature. The series uses photographs taken in August 2024 while I was bushwalking in the Dandenong Ranges. During this walk, I was struck by the beauty present in even the smallest landscapes and environments.
Growing, Unnoticed calls attention to natural spaces and the inherent beauty within small spaces. Works include macro shots of moss, lichen, bark and fungi in addition to larger environments. This series includes grayscale photographic etchings with coloured chine collé prints. Chine collé is a printmaking method where additional colour and texture is added using lightweight paper. With this work, it’s my intention that the audience closely examine each image, reconnecting with the complexity and beauty of the unnoticed 'small things' in nature.
