About printmaking
Printmaking is the process of creating original fine-art via printing methodologies and techniques. Prints are typically made by hand, involving transferring an image from a ‘matrix’ - such as a plate, stone or woodblock - onto a printable material. A fine art print may be identified by a signature, edition number and/or title on the work itself. There are several ways to produce prints including relief printing, etching (or intaglio), lithography, screenprint, monoprinting and collagraphy.
